A 15-year-old boy was in serious condition early Friday afternoon after an accident at Cache County's Beaver Mountain Ski Resort.

A resort ski patrol spokesman confirmed that the boy was hurt about 12:35 p.m. when he lost his balance during a ski jump and landed on his head.

The youth was reported to have been in and out of consciousness as paramedics tended to him.

A medical helicopter was en route to the resort to pick up the boy, and possibly — depending on the evaluation of the helicopter's on-board nurse — was to continue on to Logan Regional Hospital with the youth.

No further details were immediately available.
