(Francisco Kjolseth | The Salt Lake Tribune) University of Utah students and members of the community march 1.3 miles from East High School to Kingsbury Hall in honor of MLK day. Donations accepted at the end of the March for Youth will go toward the Rev. France Davis Scholarship Fund that helps minorities find equality.

University of Utah students and other members of the community marched 1.3 miles from East High School to Kingsbury Hall on the U. campus Monday part of the university’s week-long recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The march commemorated the Rev. France A. Davis Scholarship, which was established in 2008 and helps African-American students pay for college as well as giving them mentors and academic support.

Donations to the scholarship fund were accepted at the end of the march.
