A West Valley City girl escaped out of her bedroom window after her parents allegedly pinned her down, cut off all of her hair and assaulted her.
In charges filed Wednesday, police wrote that the girl's father was angry with her on Jan. 9 and threatened to cut her into pieces. Instead, her mother sat on her, causing her to be unable to breathe, while her father "took scissors to her head and cut all her hair off," police wrote.
While the mother kept holding the girl down, her father allegedly bit her hand and hit her across the face.
When the girl, whose age was not specified, tried to leave the father threatened her with a chair, police wrote. She then went to her room and escaped through a window, police wrote.
She had bruising, cuts and a bite mark, police wrote, as well as ruptured capillaries in her eyes and eyelids.
The parents both were charged Wednesday with second-degree felony child abuse.
