Three more Utahns have died because of the flu, this time in southwest Utah.

The three influenza-related deaths occurred within the past two weeks, according to the Southwest Utah Public Health Department. They are the first flu deaths for this year’s season in the five southwest counties. Only one person died from influenza during last year’s flu season.

Two flu deaths have been reported in Salt Lake County.
