In each case, a Latino man in his 20s or 30s handed tellers a note demanding cash then fled on foot. The banks targeted by the man include:

• Zions Bank, at 159 W. Center St., in Midvale; robbed Dec. 6 at 11:33 a.m. and Friday at 3:46 p.m.

• America First Credit Union, at 5219 S. 4015 West, Taylorsville; robbed Dec. 20 at 4:16 p.m.

• US Bank, at 8100 S. State St., Midvale; robbed Dec. 23 at 1:40 p.m., and again — in a failed attempt — Friday at 3:12 p.m.

• First Utah Bank, at 7070 S. State St, Midvale; robbed Friday at 4:42 p.m.

Police police say the man stands 5 feet 7 inches tall, has some facial hair and used a fake beard and moustache. He also wore a hat or knit cap during some of the robberies. Anyone with information about the robbery is urged to call Unified Police at 385-468-9814.

In South Salt Lake, police also were hunting a robber. They say a man in his 70s walked into the TransWest Credit Union, at 39 W. 2100 South, about 4:20 p.m. The man told the teller he had a gun and demanded cash. The man also threatened to shoot bank employees, though he never actually brandished a weapon.

The teller complied, handing over an undisclosed amount of cash. The man then fled on foot and was seen walking east on 2100 South, toward State Street.

Police say the man had a thin build and a full white beard. He wore a dark baseball cap, dark sweater and jeans, and was carrying a tan jacket. Investigators say he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information about the robbery or the suspect is asked to call South Salt Lake police at 801-840-4000.
