A vehicle struck and killed an Ogden man Wednesday as he crossed a four-lane road in Ogden.

About 6 p.m., a Jeep Cherokee traveling south hit the 60-year-old man as he crossed the 2700 Block of Wall Avenue, said Ogden Police Lt. Tim Scott. He was crossing about a block and a half south of the nearest crosswalk. It was dark, and the woman driving the car did not see the man, Scott said. The man died on impact, Scott said.

The woman appears to have been driving within the speed limit, which is 45 mph.

Police were not releasing the man's name Wednesday night pending family notifications.
