23rd annual Shop with a Cop brings smiles and Santa

The 23rd annual Shop with a Cop on Saturday paired officers from nearly a dozen agencies with about 100 children to do Christmas shopping.

Officers and their pint-size partners first ate breakfast together at Little America then traveled in a lights-and-sirens convoy to the Kmart in West Jordan where Santa greeted the group after landing in a Utah Highway Patrol helicopter.

Officers helped the children shop for gifts for the kids and their families and volunteers helped out with wrapping.
