All nine people critically injured in a two-vehicle crash near Wellington were expected to make a full recovery, Utah Highway Patrol troopers said Sunday.

A Chevrolet truck was westbound on State Route 6 in Carbon County — about 11 miles east of Wellington — about 5:05 p.m. Saturday when one of the tires on the truck separated, the UHP reported.

The truck veered to the right, then back to the left into eastbound traffic, where it was T-boned by an oncoming Nissan Pathfinder.

The occupants in the truck — two adults and three children from Price — and the occupants in the Pathfinder — two adults and two children from New Mexico — were all taken to a hospital initially in critical condition, the UHP reported.
