The Salt Lake Police Department has identified a person of interest in the hit-and-run death of Genaro Zaragoza-Valencia earlier this week.

Police are seeking 19-year-old Deryk Robeldo, 6-foot-1 with brown hair in a buzz cut, who they believe was driving a silver BMW 330Ci coupe when it hit Valencia about 7 p.m. Monday.

Valencia, 73, was walking on 1000 West near 1700 South when he was hit and thrown 75 feet in the air. He died of his injuries Monday night.

The car, with Utah plate Y153TZ, is believed to have front end and windshield damage. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call 801-799-3000.
