A 19-year-old Sanpete County man has died of injuries sustained in a Monday head-one collision, the Utah Highway Patrol confirmed Friday.

UHP Sgt. Todd Royce said Bradley Kyle Simons was pronounced dead Thursday night, according to his family.

Simons had been flown to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center Monday following the crash on U.S. 89, three miles north of Gunnison. That crash also killed the other driver, Kay Marie Matthews, 42.

Matthews was driving northbound when she struck a deer carcass and lost control of her car. Matthews' vehicle crossed the center line and collided with the Toyota driven by Simons.
