A drunk man trying to board a TRAX train before it came to a complete stop was hurt when he walked into the side of a light rail car in Murray Tuesday morning.

The 40-year-old man's injuries were not life-threatening, but he was transported to Intermountain Medical Center for treatment of abrasions and cuts to his head and face.

Utah Transit Authority spokesman Remi Barron said police described the man as "appearing to be impaired by alcohol" when he lurched toward the train as it came into the TRAX platform at the Fashion Place Station (222 W. Winchester Street (6400 South) about 9:40 a.m.
