A Davis County woman allegedly faked her nursing credentials to get work.
The 27-year-old Clinton woman has been charged in 2nd District Court in Farmington with four counts of forgery and two counts of unlawful occupational or professional conduct. All of the charges are third-degree felonies carrying a potential five-year prison sentence, except for one of the conduct charges, which is a misdemeanor.
The woman never completed nursing school and never passed the required test to become a nurse — but she obtained fake college transcripts, degrees, certifications and test results to become a registered nurse, according to the charges.
She used the fake credentials to work for several days at a Sandy facility for disabled adults. But she was only on staff for three days before the Utah Division of Professional Licensing investigators caught on to her faked paperwork, part of which she obtained from nextdaydiploma.com, according to KUTV.
Center officials said the woman never performed any medical procedures during those three days on the job, KUTV adds.
