Utah forecast: Warm autumn will give way to taste of winter
Utah's autumnal paradise is about to take a turn to colder weather.
The National Weather Service predicts high temperatures for the Wasatch Front will dip into the upper-50s Thursday, 5-7 degrees cooler than Wednesday's forecast. Overnight lows will be a few degrees chillier, too, in the low- to mid-30s.
Southern Utahns will see highs retreat 3-5 degrees, too, but Thursday still will see thermometers climb into the upper-60s after Wednesday's low-70s. Overnight lows will stay in the 40s.
The Utah Division of Air Quality graded Salt Lake, Davis, Weber and Cache counties as "yellow," or moderate for air quality; all other areas were in the "green," or healthy air class.
