Utah’s autumnal paradise is about to take a turn to colder weather.
The National Weather Service predicts high temperatures for the Wasatch Front will dip into the upper-50s Thursday, 5-7 degrees cooler than Wednesday’s forecast. Overnight lows will be a few degrees chillier, too, in the low- to mid-30s.
Southern Utahns will see highs retreat 3-5 degrees, too, but Thursday still will see thermometers climb into the upper-60s after Wednesday’s low-70s. Overnight lows will stay in the 40s.
The Utah Division of Air Quality graded Salt Lake, Davis, Weber and Cache counties as "yellow," or moderate for air quality; all other areas were in the "green," or healthy air class.
The Utah Avalanche Center listed only the mountains of Salt Lake County and the Uintas in the "moderate" snowslide risk category.
