An infant West Valley City girl remained in critical condition Friday, the day after she nearly drowned at her home.

West Valley City Fire Marshal Bob Fitzgerald said the 9-month-old remained nonresponsive at Primary Children's Medical Center, where was on life support.

The girl was found submerged head-first in a five-gallon bucket just before 2 p.m. Thursday outside her home near 7100 West Bendixon Drive (2680 South).

Paramedics were able to resuscitate the girl, who was taken to Pioneer Valley Hospital and then flown to Primary Children's.

Circumstances of the incident remained under investigation on Friday.
