An car accident in downtown Salt Lake City Tuesday afternoon temporarily closed a TRAX line.

The accident happened about 2:08 p.m. when two cars collided near the intersection of 200 West and South Temple, according to Salt Lake City Detective Dennis McGowan. The cars were blocking the TRAX line in the area, McGowan said.

A 60-year-old man was transported to a hospital in serious condition. He was the only person transported with injuries.

Utah Transit Authority spokesman Remi Barron said the accident blocked the green and blue lines until about 3:15 p.m. The accident did not involved any TRAX trains and delays were solely due to debris on the tracks, Barron added.
