Davis County's 2014 budget plan totals nearly $105M
Davis County administrators have recommended a tentative budget of nearly $105 million in operating expenses for the 2014 calendar year. Total expenditures are estimated at about $109 million, which includes one-time projects.
The spending plan which was presented Tuesday to the Davis County commission by the clerk/auditor's office is balanced and does not include a tax increase, according to Curtis Koch, chief deputy audit/finance.
It also does not include a cost-of-living adjustment for employees, but does have money for merit increases averaging 2 percent based on performance, he said.
The general fund makes up approximately $64 million of the total budget. The budget also includes funds covering the health department, jail, library and bond payments, among other expenditures.
The tentative budget will be reviewed and possibly tweaked by the commission, then released to the public in advance of a hearing scheduled for 6 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Davis County Administration Building, 61 S. Main St. in Farmington.
The current year's budget is about $102 million.
