Man dies in Price auto-pedestrian accident

A man died in Price Saturday night after being hit by a car on a particularly dark section of Main Street.

Max Moody, 61, walked into the road on the east end of Main Street and was heading north when a westbound Dodge car hit him, according to Price Capt. Bill Barnes. Moody landed on the windshield then rolled off the back of the car.

Emergency crews took Moody to Castleview Hospital, but he was dead on arrival.

Barnes said the driver — a woman whose name was not being released — didn't see Moody, who was wearing dark clothing and may have been intoxicated. The driver was not impaired and there was no indication that she did anything inappropriate, Barnes added.

Barnes said the driver was shaken up by the incident but did not suffer injuries.
