Matheson Junior High School counts the undead among its supporters.
For a Zombie 5K run on Wednesday, students, teachers, parents, volunteers and community members registered as "human victim" or "horrible zombie" before running (or staggering) along a route near the school at 3650 S. Montclair St. (7730 West).
The run raised funds for academic activities and other events aimed at bolstering student success throughout the year. A zombie after-party included face painting.
