Thirteen members of the Utah National Guard 155th Engineer Facilities Detachment left Camp Williams Tuesday for a one-year deployment to Afghanistan.

The 115th group will first travel to Camp Shelby, Miss., for several weeks of deployment-specific training before heading overseas.

Their mission will to be function as a training advisory group, transitioning operations and maintenance responsibilities to the Afghan National Army's Directorate of Public Works.
