A semi-trailer rig caught fire Wednesday morning on Interstate 80 in Summit County, but no injuries were reported.

Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Todd Johnson said the 7:30 a.m. incident occurred at mile post 177, roughly 35 miles northwest of Coalville.

One eastbound lane was closed while emergency crews doused the blaze, which was believed to have been ignited when a rear axle brake pad overheated.

The fire was quickly doused and once the big rig was towed from the scene, full traffic flow had been restored by late Wednesday morning.
