Police on Thursday evening were hunting for two men who, in unrelated incidents, robbed banks in Salt Lake City.
The first robbery happened about 4:22 p.m. at a Wells Fargo at 1255 E. Brickyard Road. According to police, a white man between 30 and 40 years old walked into the bank, brandished a weapon and demanded money.
After receiving cash, the man fled out the back door and got into an SUV driven by a woman.
Police say the man had a medium build, stood 5 feet 3 inches tall and had a scruffy white or blond goatee. He wore a hoodie with the logo "AND1" on it.
Anyone with information on the Salt Lake City robbery is urged to call police at 801-799-3000.
The second robbery happened about an hour later, at Mountain America Credit Union, at 2174 E. 3300 South, Salt Lake City. According to Unified Police, the suspect walked into the bank and acted like he was on the phone. He then handed the teller a note demanding cash.
The man escaped with an undisclosed sum of money and no one was injured, police say. Police believe the man also robbed a Deseret Credit Union in Taylorsville on Aug. 20. Police say he seems to have shaved his head between the two robberies.
The man is considered dangerous. Anyone with information about the robberies is encouraged to call police at 801-743-5915.
