A motorcyclist suffered "very severe injuries" when he collided with a car in Cedar City.

The car was traveling north on 800 West about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, when it passed through the intersection of 200 South, said Cedar City police Cpl. Dustin Orton. A westbound motorcycle struck the car's passenger side.

The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet and suffered serious injuries, Orton said.

The motorcyclist had the right-of-way, as the car's travel was controlled by a stop sign, Orton said.
