Lothele Davis and Martin "Marty" Smart were crowned Mr. and Ms. Golden Years Tuesday in a pageant organized by the Utah Health Care Association.

The pageant's contestants, all residents of long-term care facilities from across the state, ranged in age from the mid-60s to 90-plus years. The pageant, at the South Towne Expo Center in Sandy, is in its 17th year.

As part of the "inner-and-outer beauty pageant," contestants answered a variety of questions, and were encouraged to share their many accomplishments with the pageant's judges and audience. Questions included, "If you could give the youth of today one piece of advice, what would it be?" and "If you could change places with anyone from the present or past, who would it be and why?"
