Fire damaged a West Jordan home Saturday afternoon.

Dispatchers got the call about a 3:45 p.m. that the split-entry two-story home near 7100 S. 1300 West was on fire, said West Jordan Fire Battalion Chief Steve Holmes.

Two people and two animals made it out safe, but the fire soon went to a two-alarm. Firefighters from around the valley arrived to help knock down the flames within 25 minutes.

Besides extensive fire and smoke damage throughout the home, there was some heat exposure damage to adjacent buildings, Holmes said.

The fire investigator has not determined what caused the fire yet, Holmes said.
