A Draper woman is accused of nearly killing her boyfriend by slicing an artery in his arm with a utility knife, possibly during a drug-induced hallucination.

Lehi police officers found the victim bleeding profusely while sitting on a curb Sept. 6 outside of the Motel 6, near 200 S. 1200 East in Lehi, according to charges filed Friday. The man said his girlfriend, 26, had cut him.

The woman said the boyfriend had attacked her during their break-up fight that night, so she cut his arm with a box cutter, police wrote.

But the woman said her boyfriend had no weapon, and investigators could find no bruising or other injury on her body.

The woman said she and her boyfriend had been using meth recently, and a drug test came back positive, police wrote. The woman was showing signs of hallucination, and her story of the fight changed repeatedly, police wrote.

The victim nearly bled to death before he was rushed into surgery, police wrote.

The woman was charged with second-degree felony aggravated assault resulting in serious bodily injury.
