Farmington • A new exhibit of works by regional artists will be on display on the walls and in the hallways of the Davis County Administration Building and Headquarters Library beginning Friday.
Paintings, photos, sculptures, stained glass pieces and furniture are part of the county's annual art exhibit. The works will stay up until April 3, with some being added to the permanent Chevron Gallery collection at the administration building.
The exhibit "will stir your soul," said Commissioner Louenda Downs, who heads the Davis County Art Committee. "There are so many good artists in our midst."
This is the exhibit's second year. The artwork can be viewed any time the administration building, 61 S. Main St., and library, 133 S. Main St., are open. (The buildings are connected by a hallway.)
The public and the artists are invited to a free opening reception from 6-8 p.m. Friday in Room 131 of the administration building.
The Bountiful/Davis Art Center will hold a free reception to open its new exhibit from 7-9 p.m. Friday in collaboration with the county's event. The center is in the Davis County Memorial Courthouse at 28 E. State St., across the parking lot from the administration building.
