A young West Valley City girl who was run over by a car Monday in Woods Cross has died.
Woods Cross Detective Adam Osoro reported Tuesday that 2-year-old Miley Tran died about 10:30 p.m. Monday from head injuries she suffered in an accident three hours earlier.
Tran reportedly was playing outside at her aunt's home when a neighbor pulled into the driveway and ran over her. The incident happened near 1413 W. 2175 South.
Emergency crews transported Tran to Primary Children's Medical Center, where she died.
According to Osoro, family members seemed to be taking Tran's death "pretty hard" but had a large extended family supporting them. Osoro also said a language barrier led officials to initially mis-report Tran's age.
No charges have been filed as a result of the accident. Osoro said county attorneys will determine if charges are warranted.
