A Timpanogos High School soccer coach has been charged with unlawful sexual activity after a 17-year-old girl accused him of inappropriately touching her.
Angel Enciso-Lezama, 48, was cited in July with unlawful sexual activity with a minor, a class A misdemeanor.
Orem police Lt. Craig Martinez said Friday that Enciso-Lezama is accused of inappropriately touching a teenage girl who was working with him a storage shed in Orem.
"When they started talking, it was kind of inappropriate conversation which led to some inappropriate touching," Martinez said. "The touching did not involve any genitals whatsoever, it was just inappropriate."
Alpine School District spokesman John Patten said Friday that the alleged victim worked with Enciso-Lezama at the man's painting business, and is not a student at Timpanogos High.
Patten said the boys soccer coach does not work as a teacher, and is hired only as an hourly employee who works during the soccer season, which starts in March. Though he is not working at the school at the moment, Patten said the principal has put Enciso-Lezama on administrative leave until the case is resolved.
"At this point in time, it is an allegation," Patten said. "And anybody can make an allegation. No guilt or innocence has been pronounced as of yet."
Enciso-Lezama is scheduled to make an initial appearance in Spanish Fork's 4th District Court on Sept. 20.
