A Kearns man, allegedly stabbed by his girlfriend when an argument over money escalated out of control, has been released from the hospital.

Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal on Friday confirmed the 46-year-old victim, who initially had been listed as critical when transported to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray on Thursday afternoon, "is doing very well" and had been released Thursday night.

His alleged assailant, a 33-year-old woman, remained in the Salt Lake County Jail on Friday in lieu of $10,000 bond on suspicion of second-degree felony attempted homicide and third-degree domestic violence in the presence of a child.

UPD said officers responding to a 911 call found the bleeding victim outside a home near 5400 South and 5400 West. shortly after noon on Thursday.

It took police nearly an hour to persuade the woman to surrender. Animal control officers then arrived to capture and remove a pit bull and another dog from the premises.

Another man and two small children who also lived in the home escaped without injury.
