A Utah State University student was treated for minor injuries and released after being rescued following a mountain bike crash in Green Canyon.

Cache County Sheriff's Lt. Brian Locke said the 21-year-old, a student from Maryland, was riding in the rugged area north of Logan about 6 p.m. Wednesday when he crashed and flew over his handle bars. After making a 911 call, Logan Fire Department paramedics found the victim a short time later.

Locke said the rider suffered a facial laceration but was not believed to have sustained any other serious injuries. He was transported to Cache Valley Hospital for treatment.
