First, police say, a Brigham City man got caught in bed with another man's wife. It just got worse from there.

Brigham City police Lt. Mike Nelson said that after the irate husband found the partially dressed 33-year-old suspect in his bedroom about 5 a.m. Tuesday, a fight broke out. The suspect ended up fleeing the house — wearing nothing but a shirt.

The fight continued in the driveway, however, and the pantless lothario allegedly struck his pursuer in the legs and hip with his car, backed up and then tried unsuccessfully to run over him again as he drove away.

The commotion alarmed neighbors, who called 911.

Meanwhile, the suspect, allegedly intoxicated, struck a car at a stop sign near 250 West and 850 North, then smashed into a nearby home, where he bailed out and fled on foot. No injuries were reported in that incident.

Police eventually found the suspect, collapsed and incoherent, in a backyard about three blocks away.

The suspect was treated at the hospital for minor injuries and then booked into the Box Elder County jail, where records show he remained in custody Wednesday on suspicion of attempted homicide, driving while under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of an accident.

As for the cuckolded husband, he, too, was treated for minor injuries at the hospital and released, police said.
