Funeral services will be Wednesday for a Mormon missionary from Roy who was killed in Malaysia.
Services for Jason Wiberg, 19, will take place at 11 a.m. at the Roy Utah West LDS State Center, 5080 S. 3100 West, according to the missionary's Mormon bishop, Wendell Rich.
Wiberg will be buried in the Roy City Cemetery.
A viewing is scheduled for Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Roy Mortuary, 3333 W. 5600 South.
Rich says a charitable account has been set up to assist with funeral costs at America First Credit Union in Wiberg's name.
The young missionary died Aug. 25, a day after a car hit him while he was riding his bicycle in Kuching, Malaysia.
A family statement notes that Wiberg had been serving his LDS mission since October 2012. Born in Utah, he also lived in Indiana, Minnesota and Tennessee before eventually graduating from Roy High in 2012. Wiberg dreamed of becoming a police officer, enjoyed the outdoors and was an Eagle Scout.
Wiberg is survived by two brothers, a sister and a large extended family.
After the car hit Wiberg, his companion provided first aid and paramedics took him to the hospital. His condition nevertheless deteriorated.
