Firefighters rushed to the scene of a field fire in west Salt Lake City early Friday afternoon.

No injuries or structural losses were immediately reported, but the blaze had burned about an acre of grass and shrub near 6000 West and 2100 South by noon, a public safety dispatcher said.

The blaze was reported under control within an hour of its first report.

The Salt Lake Tribune will provide additional details as they develop.
