A teenage boy was struck and killed Thursday by a pickup truck while riding his skateboard in the Weber County town of Harrisville.

Harrisville Police Chief Max Jackson identified the victim as 15-year-old Kristopher Collins, of North Ogden. He was skateboarding along the side of the road with another teenage boy at 9:40 p.m. Thursday, when the southbound truck hit him on Washington Boulevard near 1300 North.

The 34-year-old driver stopped to administer CPR to Collins until paramedics arrived. The boy was taken to the hospital but died a short time later.

The second teen skateboarding with Collins at the time of the accident was unhurt.

No citations were issued to the truck's driver, who told police he did not see the victim on the darkened street until too late.

However, police said the incident remained under investigation.
