A food handler at a Washington County restaurant has tested positive for hepatitis A and health officials are trying to identify customers who may have been exposed.
People who dined at the Ancestor Square Pizza Factory in St. George during the following times should contact the Southwest Utah Public Health Department or their doctor for preventive treatment, according to a news alert posted on the county's Facebook page.
• Friday, July 19 from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
• Saturday, July 20 from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
• Tuesday, July 23 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
• Friday, July 26 from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
• Saturday, July 27 from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Customers who ate there on other days do not need to seek care. No other Pizza Factory restaurants are affected.
Vaccination is the best protection against hepatitis A, a liver infection that can cause jaundice, or yellowing of the eyes and skin, fatigue, loss of appetite, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea and fever.
