The Provo Police Department will host a free neighborhood fair designed to cultivate relationships between Provo residents and the public safety agencies that serve them.

Provo's National Night Out Against Crime will be held Tuesday evening, Aug. 6, between 6 and 8 p.m. at 500 North and 500 West.

The free event will feature games for kids, treats, free bicycle registration and a chance to meet with Provo's cops, firefighters and community leaders.

"National Night Out provides an opportunity for our police department to continue to build relationships and partnerships with our citizens with a focus on crime prevention and crime reduction," said Chief Cliff Argyle in a statement.

The night out program was started 30 years ago by the National Association of Town Watch. Neighborhoods and cities around the country will host similar events on the same night.
