Four people were hurt, two of them critically in a rollover crash near Park City.

A small SUV towing a pop-up camper was going west on U.S. 40 Wednesday, and as it was cresting a hill near mile post 6 when, at 1:22 p.m., the trailer began to sway and the driver lost control of the vehicle, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.

The SUV and trailer went into the median and rolled.

Two people in the back seats, a man and his 12-year-old son, suffered only minor injuries and were taken to Park City Hospital. But two older people in the front, a female driver and male passenger, were critically injured and both were unconscious for several minutes after the crash, according to UHP.

They were both flown in helicopters to Salt Lake City area hospitals.

UHP Cpl. Todd Johnson was not sure of the older pair’s relationship to the passengers in the backseat.

Troopers shut down the eastbound lanes and a westbound lane to handle the crash and reopened them after 2:30 p.m. The westbound lane is still closed for the investigation.
