Westminster College has been named one of the best institutions in the country to work for by The Chronicle of Higher Education.
The private, four-year college in Salt Lake City is one of 97 to earn the recognition. It is based on a survey of more than 46,600 employees at 300 colleges and universities, as well as institutional audits on demographics, policies and practices.
Institutions must get high marks in at least one of 12 categories to make the list. Westminster's employees lauded the college in three categories: Teaching environment, collaborative governance and facilities, workspace and security.
This is the fifth consecutive year the college has been named among the publication's Great Colleges to Work For. No other Utah institutions were on it.
"We are successful because we have an environment that supports our professional needs, that encourages collaboration and innovation and that respects the contributions of everyone to our common objectives," said Westminster College President Brian Levin-Stankevich in a statement.
