Nearly 2,500 Rocky Mountain Power customers were left without electricity Monday by several outages, but nearly all of them were back in service by early afternoon.

Utility spokeswoman Margaret Ohler said the largest outage, affecting Saratoga Springs and Lehi, struck at 11:18 a.m. Nearly 1,600 clients were left without service. Crews expected to have those clients restored to the power grid by 2 p.m.

Another outage, initially affecting about 900 customers, struck just after midnight in the Beaver Dam, Collinston, Fielding, Garland, Plymouth and Portage areas in northwestern Utah. By noon, all service had been restored.

Ohler said problems with underground lines providing local services were blamed for both power outages.
