One woman died Saturday afternoon after she lost control of her vehicle along Interstate 15 in Washington County.

Utah Highway Patrol troopers said the woman was northbound on I-15 northwest of Hurricane when her vehicle suddenly veered left, off the shoulder and into the median. The vehicle then hit the embankment, which caused it to overturn onto the concrete barrier and overturn again.

Troopers said the vehicle overturned a third time, clearing the barrier and entering the southbound lanes of travel.

The driver, who wasn't wearing a seat belt, was ejected and died at the scene when her head struck the roadway.

Her name has not yet been released.
