Two-alarm fire burns home near Salt Lake City storage facility
A fire Wednesday evening burned a house near a storage facility at 2100 South and 6706 West.
The two-alarm fire was reported at the home of Rocky Mountain Storage's on-site manager about 7:30 p.m., said Salt Lake City Fire spokesman Jasen Asay. A man, woman and baby live in the home.
The fire burned about one third of the house; the rest of the building sustained smoke damage. The blaze went on for about 30 minutes before firefighters were able to control it.
The fire temporarily forced the closure of State Road 201 from 5600 West to 7200 West, the Utah Department of Transportation reported.
