A Brigham City teenager died Friday afternoon when the truck he was riding in veered off Interstate 15 near Tremonton.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, 16-year-old Tyler Stuart was riding in a southbound white Sonoma pickup truck on I-15 with a 16-year-old girl and the 18-year-old driver.
At 4:15 p.m. near mile marker 379, the truck drifted to the right, then veered back to the left and rolled down an embankment. The truck came to a rest on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 84 at mile marker 40.
The accident ejected Stuart and the teenage girl, UHP reports. The driver remained inside the truck.
Stuart died at the scene. The driver and the girl, who have not been identified, were transported to hospitals in critical condition.
The cause of the accident was unknown late Friday.

Japanese tourist dies after fall at Arches
A Japanese tourist died Thursday in Moab after sustaining a fall in Arches National Park.
According to the Grand County Sheriff's Office, 78-year-old Tsuneo Ohashi fell hundreds of feet into a bowl area near Delicate Arch. The incident was reported at 7:41 p.m., and Ohashi was flown to Moab Regional Hospital, where he died.
Grand County sheriff's deputy Lt. Kim Neal said in a news release that Ohashi had traveled alone to Utah from Saitama, Japan.
