A Kearns man is accused of child abuse after a toddler who allegedly was in his care arrived at a hospital with a broken clavicle and bruises consistent with choking.
The boy's mother took the 22-month-old to Primary Children's Medical Center on April 11 because she saw bruises on his face, police wrote in charges filed Tuesday. Doctors said the bruising on his face and neck was consistent with being slapped and choked. His right clavicle was fractured, police wrote.
The mother reported that she had left the boy in the care of the Kearns man four days earlier and noticed the injuries the next morning. The man, 30, was charged with second-degree felony child abuse.
