Police have identified Carter Bassett as the boy who drowned in a hotel hot tub Friday night.

Cpl. Shawn Bennett of the North Park Police Department said the 3-year-old boy was attending a wedding reception at the Four Seasons reception center, 140 E. 2200 North in North Logan. Carter was discovered unresponsive in the hot tub and died at a hospital Friday night.

Around 8 p.m., someone discovered the boy unconscious in the hot tub. Bennett said it was unknown how long the boy had been in the water. Guests attempted CPR until medical responders arrived. He was taken to Logan Regional Hospital, where he died.

The boy and his parents, Dixie and Brendon Bassett, were visiting from Weston, Idaho, according to a statement from Police Chief Kim Hawkes.
