Salt Lake City police confirmed Tuesday that they had learned a motorcyclist who collided with a parked car on May 30 had died of his injuries.

Brian Thaut, 32, was not wearing a helmet when his westbound motorcycle collided with the unoccupied car at 330 W. 200 South, about 8 p.m. Thursday, police said.

Thaut died Saturday morning at University Hospital, where he had been in critical condition with head and other injuries since the accident, police said.
