The 31-year-old suspect reportedly had gone to the house to speak with his brother, a resident there. However, another man came out instead and words were exchanged. Witnesses said the suspect then grabbed the victim, slashing him across the throat with a knife.

The victim escaped with minor injuries, however, and was not transported to the hospital.

Nonetheless, the suspect was arrested and booked on suspicion of attempted murder and was being held without bail.

Police did not disclose further details on why the incident escalated from confrontation to assault.
