The Natural History Museum of Utah closed shortly before noon Tuesday and will remain closed for the remainder of the day due to a power outage in Research Park.

Margaret Oler, spokeswoman for Rocky Mountain Power, said the power was interrupted shortly before 10:30 a.m. when a contractor working in the area dug into some underground equipment. She said 27 customers in the park were affected by the outage. Power was expected to be restored by mid- to late afternoon.
