Want to be a public servant? • The deadlines to file to run for city office are this week. In West Valley City, candidates for mayor or one of the three city council spots on the fall general election ballot must file and pay a $25 fee by 6 p.m. today at City Hall, 3600 S. Constitution Blvd. (2700 West). For more information, visit http://bit.ly/18NLn8R. Taylorsville has a deadline of 5 p.m. Friday to file at City Hall, 2600 W. Taylorsville Blvd. (5325 South). The filing fee is $100; that amount will be reduced to $50 for candidates who submit a nomination petition containing 25 signatures of city residents who are at least 18 years old.
