Two sisters were found alive and well Thursday morning after spending the night in southwestern Utah's high desert near Ivins.
The Spectrum reported that the pajama-clad girls, ages 9 and 10, had slipped out their bedroom window in Ivins late Wednesday evening. Their mother went to check on them about 11 p.m., saw they were gone and called Santa Clara-Ivins police.
About 3 a.m. Thursday a reverse-911 alert — since cancelled — was sent out to about 1,000 residents in the area as the search for the girls began.
Then after sunrise, the girls were seen walking near their neighborhood by a neighbor who picked them up and drove them home.
The older girl hurt her foot when she stepped on a cactus in the dark, but the girls were otherwise fine, police said.
