That sink hole that gulped the front wheel well of a pickup truck in the town of West Point has been filled and traffic has resume in both directions on the affected street.

The Davis County Sheriff's Office said Thursday that a new layer of asphalt remained to be poured and tamped down at 275 North and 2000 West, but otherwise the heavily traveled arterial is back open to motorists.

Deputies had shut down the road early Wednesday afternoon when the hole, about a foot deep, opened and a pickup truck plunged into the pit.

No one was injured.
